Walk the Global Walk journey in Wales An excellent training day -very clear and informative. Superb resources and activities – Teacher, Ysgol Bro Dinefwr

18 teachers and education leaders attended our first teacher training day in Wales last month, representing 8 schools across our local education authority of Carmarthenshire. We delivered a number of activities as ‘tasters’ to the Teacher Briefing Pack for the Walk the Global Walk project, with a certain global twist. We are collaborating with local NGO Dolen Cymru (Wales Link) who are twinned with Lesotho in Southern Africa, so with this context we were able to extend the learning capacity of 2 activities on Social Inclusion and Identity to include more voices. This was an exciting dimension of discussion as we considered other ways to approach notions of inclusion, community and equity. We are looking forward to sharing these with our partners in Lesotho as well as our schools here in Wales.

I enjoyed the day and have learnt about the SDGs especially as well as getting ideas for practical activities to carry out with pupils in the future ( translated from the Welsh). – Regional Leader of Learning
